An app for the students of Malmö University developed by students of the university during the course “Mobile application development” in the autumn of 2013. The app was initially developed in a period of 1 month but should be continuously updated by other students. Check it out here.
As an interaction designer my main contributions were to the navigation feature that helps guide students through the campus while slowly helping them understand how room numbers are related to their location within the campus. Aside from that I was mainly working on creating graphical elements for the app as well as implementing the layouts into the app.
I approached the design of the Navigation feature with the idea that if we design it right, students should stop using it within a month. Instead of making students dependent on the app, I wanted the app to teach them the building’s layout so they would eventually not need it.
